Al-Sultan Abdullah vacates FIFA post, declines AFF nomination

Checks with several sources in both FAM and AFC confirmed news of His Royal Highness stepping down.

In order to focus on his duties as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ibni Sultan Ahmad Shah has relinquished his position as a member of the International Football Federation (FIFA)
His Royal Highness was elected to the position in 2015 and the term of office was to end in June this year.

Checks with several sources in both FAM and AFC confirmed news of His Royal Highness stepping down.

It is further learnt that Al-Sultan Abdullah has also declined nomination as President of the Asean Football Federation who are to hold their elections on March 17.

His position as the President of the Asian Hockey Federation however will only be determined this Friday as the AGM is in Japan.

For the record , Sultan Azlan Shah was the President of AHF during his tenure as King in the 90’s.
