KUALA LUMPUR – A total of 35 finalists for the Mrs Malaysia World 2019/2020 pageant will be visiting the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) tomorrow as a part of their community programme, said Mrs Malaysia World Sdn. Bhd. (MMWSB) in a statement here today.
The finalists comprised of Malaysian women between the ages of 25 to 55 years, from all ethnic backgrounds, and various professions including, doctors, accountants, entrepreneurs, and teachers.
Pageant finalists were selected based on their intelligence, personality, leadership, and most of all, their commitment to the well-being of their surrounding communities through their involvement in social causes.
Mrs Malaysia World pageant’s purpose is to create role models who inspire, and keeping with that spirit, this year’s pageant finalists will be adorned with specially designed “Unity Ribbons” by Projek 57, in support of the vision for a united Malaysia.
Leading by example, the pageant practices inclusiveness even in its application process, which accepts married women with no discrimination against their religion, age, height, weight, or marital status.
“Our goal is to produce role-models, not models. Every aspect of the pageant is to empower these women to become leaders in their own right, and to inspire their peers, families, friends and their respective communities,” said Datuk Dr. Mohandas Kattayat, CEO and founder of Mrs Malaysia World Sdn Bhd.
He added that the pageant’s role was to serve as a catalyst for the transformation of its finalists to becoming the best version of themselves.
Spearheading the pageant as its’s National Director is, Datin Harveen Kaur, who is a testament to the transformative abilities of the Mrs Malaysia World pageant.
After being crowned Mrs Malaysia World 2017, she continued on, turning her moment of success, into an opportunity to move forward. She took over the pageant after obtaining the license from founder of Mrs World Inc. himself, Mr David Marmel, and ever since has taken it to greater heights.
“I am eager to see who will be crowned the new queen and the one who will fly our nation’s flag at the Mrs World 2019 Pageant at Las Vegas on the 6th of December 2019,” said Datin Harveen, 2017 Winner and Mrs Malaysia World National Director.
In the following 2 months, pageant finalists will undergo an arduous training regime that will include sessions on grooming (hair and make-up), personal wellness, mindset conditioning, self-defense lessons, fitness, baking, catwalk and stage presence, and public speaking. Added to that, the finalists will carry out community programs, including a visit to the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM).
Datin Harveen added, “This pageant is not just about glitz and glamour, we are committed to moulding our finalists to become the best that they can. What we practice is a tried and tested program that has a proven track-record of unlocking opportunities for past Mrs Malaysia World Pageant finalists, whether in their career or personal lives.’’
