KUALA LUMPUR — The Society for the Promotion of Human Rights Malaysia (PROHAM) has expressed support for the Bar Council’s call for the setting-up of a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) to look into the recent shocking expose that there had been judicial interference and misconduct.
In a statement forwarded to BebasNews this evening, it said if matter is not investigated, it would further erode public confidence in the Malaysian judiciary.
PROHAM Chairman, Datuk Kuthubul Zaman Bukhari said the RCI should investigate the criminal nature of the alleged judicial interference and misconduct to determine any criminal charges or action to be taken against those suspected to be involved.

According to PROHAM, the RCI would be instrumental in coming up with recommendations to ensure that the independence of the judiciary is restored and subsequently to bring it back into the sacred folds of the doctrine of separation of powers.
