Team searching for Nora Anne stumbles upon human remains

SEREMBAN — A search-and-rescue team looking for an Irish, girl who went missing from a resort since Aug 4, has found human remains near Gunung Berembun in Pantai Hills near here.

Sources confirmed that the team found a body but it could not be immediately established if it was 15-year-old Nora Anne Quoirin.

State police chief DCP Datuk Mohamad Mat Yusop is scheduled to hold the daily press conference at 5pm Tuesday (Aug 13).

Nora Anne had checked into the resort with her parents, Sebastian Marie Philipe and Meabh Jaseprine Quoirin, and siblings Innes Julia and Maurice Arthure, on Aug 3.

However, she was not found in her room she shared with her siblings the next morning.

A window in the room, which could only be opened from the inside, was open.

The girl, who is of French-Irish parentage, has learning difficulties.

It is learnt that the family had planned a two-week stay at the said resort.

Apart from the police, others involved in the operation were personnel from the Fire and Rescue Department, Civil Defence Force, Rela, the Orang Asli from the Senoi Praaq unit as well local Orang Asli community and villagers.
